For most founders, accounting is a black box on the books: expensive, slow, and in the end nobody really knows what they are paying for.

mika changes that. We build AI-powered accounting that companies can take into their own hands, without a tax advisor in between. Receipt capture, classification, e-invoicing, validation and filings run automatically instead of travelling across an external desk once a month.

What this is about

We are 30 people, look after around 900 customers and have just closed our seed round.

Our inbound works. People who find us, we convince. What we are building now is the other direction: conversations with companies that do not yet know their accounting is a solvable problem.

That is exactly where you sit. You build your own pipeline instead of taking over a finished one.

Tasks

Outbound (approx. 50%)

  • Identify and prioritise target customers: agencies, consultancies, SaaS companies and e-commerce in the German Mittelstand (small and mid-sized companies)
  • Set up your own multichannel sequences (email, LinkedIn, phone) and keep optimising them against reply rates
  • Cold calling, without it ruining your week
  • Run first conversations in which you make the need visible in the first place

Qualifying and closing (approx. 40%)

  • Qualify demo requests and trials from content, website and partners quickly
  • Run short qualification calls and understand the actual accounting situation: current tax firm, volume, systems, pain points
  • Give product demos tailored to the specific case rather than to the feature list
  • Resolve objections about switching tax advisors, liability and migration cleanly
  • Close and hand over to Customer Success in a structured way

Trade fairs and events (approx. 10%)

  • You are on site at trade fairs and startup events, at the booth and in front of it
  • You talk to people who had no plan to talk to you and turn it into a conversation
  • Good conversations you take straight to a close, the rest goes cleanly into follow-up

Systems and numbers

  • Keep the pipeline clean in HubSpot
  • Know your conversion rates per stage and where things get stuck
  • Document objections and reasons for wins and losses so the whole team learns from them

Requirements

We look more at personality and direction here than at years on a CV.

  • First sales experience: an internship, a working student job or one to two years in a sales role, SaaS is welcome, a completely different background is welcome too
  • A business background from university or vocational training. You do not have to be a tax expert, but terms like Gewerbesteuer (trade tax), Körperschaftsteuer (corporate income tax) or Jahresabschluss (annual financial statements) are not foreign words to you
  • You approach strangers on your own initiative, on the phone and at the booth, and a no does not throw you off
  • You want to sell, and you want to sell this. You will understand our product in days, not months
  • A structured way of working: at any moment you know where your conversations stand and why
  • Business-fluent German, because you talk to managing directors about their finances
  • Based in Berlin or willing to relocate

Nice to have

  • First outbound experience of your own, sequences built from scratch
  • Experience at trade fairs or in event sales
  • Understanding of accounting, tax advisory or fintech products
  • Experience with HubSpot or sales engagement tools

Benefits

  • Up to €55,000 base salary, around €100,000 OTE when you hit your targets, uncapped commission
  • A product with a clear cost advantage over the status quo
  • Sales and communication training from day one, you will not be thrown in at the deep end
  • A direct line to the founders, short decision paths, no reporting layers
  • Your own accounts and your own pipeline in the area that carries growth in 2026
  • Office in Berlin-Kreuzberg, hybrid with at least 3 days in the office
  • Budget for training and sales tooling
  • Urban Sports Club membership
  • Deutschlandticket (nationwide public transport pass)
  • Access to Corporate Benefits and company discounts
