Here you can find out how to connect your Qonto account to mika, plus the key answers about your bookkeeping with mika.
mika connects to your Qonto account through a secure PSD2 banking link (finAPI) and automatically imports your transactions and account balances. In mika, each transaction is categorized and pre-booked into the ledger, keeping your accounting continuously up to date and ready for VAT returns (UStVA), DATEV export, and year-end financial statements, with no manual CSV imports.
Today the integration syncs bank transactions only. Receipts and invoices uploaded in Qonto aren't imported yet, but that's on the roadmap.
DATEV and Lexware are primarily built for tax advisors or traditional bookkeepers. mika is built for business owners without a bookkeeping background or prior knowledge, and goes further.
mika creates not just your ongoing bookkeeping, but also your complete annual financial statements, and submits them directly to the Finanzamt (your local tax office). Without a tax advisor.
Not for ongoing bookkeeping, VAT returns or annual financial statements.
For strategic tax questions (for example company restructuring, shareholdings, optimizing a managing director's salary), a tax advisor can still make sense as a consultant, but no longer for the compliance work.
Your data is transmitted encrypted and archived in compliance with GoBD. We meet all legal requirements of the German tax authorities for digital bookkeeping.
